M87

Here is a closer view of this giant elliptical and dominant galaxy of the Virgo Cluster. The galaxy is an intense source of radio emission and is also known as Virgo-A. It is believed to harbour a super massive black hole having a mass of ~3.5 billion solar masses and has a famous relativistic jet of material extending about 5,000ly from the core. You can see the jet as the slightly bluish extension at 2:30 o'clock in this image. Not a bad result for a 5.1" telescope from a distance of 55 Mly!
