Gum 17 (RCW33), Vela - a reasonably bright nebula seen in the sky on the edge of the Gum Nebula (Gum12). Distance is uncertain - 1200ly or 3100ly - based on assumed associations with the cluster Tr10 (the small knot of stars lower left) or the star HD75759.
