Birds of Colorado

A pleasant week in Denver served as a base for the successful viewing of the total solar eclipse from Wyoming on August 21, 2017. I took the opportunity whilst in Denver to do some birding at the Botanic Gardens and Chatfield Dam, and I enjoyed a day's guided birding in varied habitats in, and around, the Rocky Mountains up to in excess of 12,000 feet above sea level. Broad-tailed hummingbirds and a couple of Jay species were particular highlights.
