Currajung Bird Camp, Easter 2014

Easter Camp 2014 was held in the rolling Gippsland hills in the small farming community of Currajung, up the road from Yarram. It was a spacious site on a disused sports field with easy access to  a wide range of habitats, including mountain ash forest, grassland, sea and residential gardens.

Apart from the birds there were other points of interest - Currajung church, an interesting fungus, a friendly pony that enjoyed munching on fresh grass, farmland, an abandoned house and an old plough. At night we had some clear skies enabling some short exposures - here's a view looking south east and one looking west. The surf coast was not far away and the breakers were rolling in.
