Northern Territory

The contrast in climate and landscape could hardly be greater - hot and semi-arid desert in the south, wet, tropical heat and lush vegetated country in the north. That's the Northern Territory. A far cry from the "four seasons in one day" weather we're used to in Melbourne, the mainland's southern capital. A perfect winter break for Australians living in the southern states.

I've enjoyed visits to the Top End, including Darwin, Kakadu, Pine Creek and Lake Bennett and to the south, Alice Springs and Tennant Creek.
